Quad Band Repeater for 4G and 5G Coverage

A quad band repeater amplifies four frequency bands in a single compact unit. This makes it a practical option where 4G and 5G services on different bands must be improved together, but the space and budget for several repeaters are limited.

The model in this group

This group currently contains a 23 dBm quad band digital mini repeater that combines Band 31 (450 MHz), Band 5 (850 MHz), n78 (3500 MHz) and n79 (4500 MHz). The datasheet describes it as a cost-effective solution for indoor coverage problems caused by weak signal levels, building structures or signal attenuation.

Because it mixes low band LTE with mid-band 5G NR, the repeater can support both wide-area 4G service and higher-capacity 5G service inside the same building, provided the donor signals are available.

Quad band repeater or several units?

Compared with installing two dual band repeaters, one quad band unit reduces the number of active devices, power connections and monitoring points. On the other hand, a compact mini repeater is intended for small to medium indoor areas, so larger sites may need higher power equipment.

Planning a quad band installation

Before selecting a quad band repeater, check the following points:

  • A usable donor signal on each of the four bands at the donor antenna location
  • Donor and service antennas that cover 450 MHz to 5 GHz, or separate antennas per band
  • Passive components rated for the full frequency range
  • Required coverage area compared with the 23 dBm output power
  • Operator approval for all bands involved

For larger areas or higher output power, consider combining single band RF repeaters or using a fiber DAS system. For other multi-band options, see the dual band and triple band groups, or return to all cellular RF repeaters.

Frequently asked questions

Which networks use this band combination?

This combination fits networks that operate Band 31 and Band 5 for LTE together with n78 and n79 for 5G NR. Confirm the frequency plan with the operator before ordering.
