4G LTE Power-Amplifiers
LTE Power Amplifiers and Multi-Carrier PAs
LTE power amplifiers in this group are multi-carrier power amplifiers (MCPA) for 4G networks. They amplify several carriers within one band at the same time, which is why they are used as power stages in repeaters, distributed antenna systems and base station equipment. High linearity is essential, because LTE signals have a high peak to average power ratio.
Bands and power levels
The range covers bands from 450 MHz to 2.7 GHz:
- 10 W models for Band 1, Band 3, Band 5, Band 7, Band 8 and Band 20/28 (700 MHz)
- 50 W models for Band 31 (450 MHz), Band 71 (617 MHz), Band 5 (850 MHz), Band 11/21 (1400 MHz) and Band 2 (1900 MHz)
- 5 W, 10 W and 20 W TDD models for Band 40 and Band 41 (2.3 to 2.7 GHz), optimised for LTE and 5G NR
- A 48 dBm model for Bands 12, 13 and 14, and a 617 to 821 MHz model rated at 200 W
Several datasheets in this group describe linear LDMOS power devices that provide high gain and a wide dynamic range. Exact ratings, gain and linearity figures are listed per model, so compare datasheets side by side.
How to select an LTE power amplifier
First, match the frequency band and the required average output power for your signal. Next, compare ACLR and EVM under the same test conditions, because these values depend on bandwidth, number of carriers and output power. Finally, check supply voltage, cooling and mechanical interfaces for your host equipment.

Frequently asked questions
Can an LTE amplifier also carry 5G NR?
Some models are specified for both. For example, the Band 40/41 TDD models are described as dual-mode LTE and 5G NR amplifiers. Check each datasheet.
Are custom LTE amplifiers available?
Yes. Custom frequency, power and form factor options can be discussed with our engineers.
