TETRA DMR 400MHz Repeaters, BDAs and Fiber DAS

TETRA DMR 400MHz repeaters and bi-directional amplifiers extend UHF professional radio coverage into buildings, tunnels and underground sites. The 400 MHz range is widely used by TETRA, DMR, P25 and analog LMR networks, so this is the largest group in the EMTS mission-critical portfolio, covering UHF frequencies from 380 to 512 MHz depending on the model.

Repeaters and BDAs

  • A 20 dBm mini repeater (BDA) with high selectivity for small indoor areas
  • 30 dBm and 37 dBm band selective repeaters for DMR, LMR and TETRA
  • A 40 dBm high power channel selective BDA for DMR
  • High power pickup repeaters (BDA) in 19 inch enclosures for in-building systems
  • A 400 MHz in-line booster for DMR and TETRA distribution systems

Fiber DAS for 400 MHz

For large or multi-level sites, the group also includes a TETRA, DMR and P25 fiber DAS master unit and high power remote unit, a fiber optic repeating system for LMR 400 MHz, and an indoor and outdoor fiber DAS for public safety and civilian applications. As a result, one supplier can cover both the BDA and the fiber parts of a design.

Choosing the right configuration

Start with the exact channel list and the radio standard. Next, check the donor signal and the size of the coverage area. Then decide between a band selective repeater, a channel selective BDA or a fiber DAS, based on the size and layout of the site. In tunnels and long corridors, add in-line boosters to compensate for feeder losses.

For other bands, see VHF BDA and 800MHz TETRA DMR repeaters, or return to all TETRA and DMR coverage solutions. Our planning guide covers survey, design and commissioning.

Frequently asked questions

Do these products support P25?

Several products in this group, including the fiber DAS units, are specified for P25 as well as TETRA and DMR. Check each datasheet.

What is a pickup repeater?

A pickup repeater takes the radio signal off-air through a donor antenna and feeds it into an in-building system, such as a passive antenna network or a fiber DAS.
