700/800MHz Public Safety Repeaters

700/800MHz public safety repeaters extend dual band radio coverage for DMR, LMR and other mission-critical networks that operate in the 700 and 800 MHz ranges. They amplify both bands in one unit, so a single installation can serve users on either band inside buildings, tunnels and areas with weak outdoor signal.

Products in this group

  • A 20 dBm dual band 700-800 MHz mini repeater for small indoor areas
  • A 30 dBm dual band 700-800 MHz power repeater
  • A 33 dBm 700-800 MHz high selectivity power repeater
  • A 40 dBm high selectivity, high power band/channel selective repeater
  • A 700/800 MHz fiber optic remote unit for extended DMR and LMR coverage

According to their datasheets, the repeaters are intended to solve poor signal coverage in public safety networks, and the fiber optic system extends and improves 700/800 MHz DMR and LMR coverage. Exact ratings are listed in each datasheet.

Why high selectivity matters

The 700 and 800 MHz ranges are often shared with other services. Therefore, high selectivity filtering helps a repeater amplify only the intended frequencies and reject strong signals close to the band. This protects both the served network and its neighbours.

Selecting the right power level

Mini repeaters suit small rooms and single floors. Power repeaters serve medium buildings, while the 40 dBm model covers larger areas or outdoor zones. For very large or multi-level sites, the fiber remote unit distributes the signal over optical fiber. In addition, check the donor signal level, because it determines how much gain the repeater can use.

Frequently asked questions

Do these repeaters support P25?

Several 700/800 MHz products are specified for P25 as well as DMR and LMR. Check each datasheet.

Can one repeater cover both 700 and 800 MHz users?

Yes. The dual band models in this group amplify both ranges in one unit, which simplifies installation compared with two single band repeaters.
