Mission-Critical LTE Repeaters and In-Line Boosters

Mission-critical LTE repeaters extend private and public LTE coverage for operational teams, utilities, transport operators and first responders. As more critical voice, data and video services move to LTE, in-building and tunnel coverage for these networks needs the same reliability as traditional radio. EMTS offers repeaters and in-line boosters for these networks, listed in the groups below.

Products in this group

  • A 37 dBm band and channel selective high power repeater for single band LTE-FDD at 700 MHz
  • A 23 dBm band and channel selective mini repeater for single band LTE-FDD at 2600 MHz
  • 850 MHz in-line boosters, including a 40 dBm model, for distribution systems and tunnels

According to their datasheets, the repeaters provide an affordable solution for indoor signal coverage problems, while the in-line boosters compensate for insertion loss in passive components and feeder cable loss.

Band selective and channel selective operation

A band selective repeater amplifies the complete LTE band. A channel selective repeater, in contrast, amplifies only the carriers of the served network. For mission-critical LTE, channel selectivity helps keep the repeater focused on the private or dedicated carrier, especially when public operators use adjacent frequencies.

Planning information

Before selecting a model, confirm the LTE band and channel bandwidth, the donor signal level, the coverage area, and the required monitoring and backup power. Then compare gain, output power and supported bandwidth in each datasheet.

Where these products fit

  • Private LTE networks for utilities, ports, mines and industrial sites
  • Tunnels and underground transport infrastructure
  • Control rooms, plant buildings and basements with weak signal
  • Extending coverage of an existing distribution system with in-line boosters

Frequently asked questions

Can these repeaters be used for public LTE networks?

Technically they amplify standard LTE-FDD bands. However, any installation requires approval from the operator that holds the spectrum.

Are other LTE bands available?
