Multi-Sensor Counter-UAS Detection
This document specifies a vendor-agnostic reference design for a distributed, multi-sensor Counter-Unmanned Aircraft System (C-UAS) detection network built on three complementary passive sensing modalities: radio-frequency control-link detection, cellular network monitoring, and acoustic sensor arrays. It defines sensor node architectures, frequency coverage, array geometry, data fusion, tracking and classification, backhaul and timing distribution, power, siting and verification methods.
The specification covers the RF detection subsystem and its band plan across ITU Regions 1, 2 and 3; the LTE and cellular monitoring subsystem for cellular-piloted aircraft; the acoustic sensor array and its rotor-signature signal processing chain; multi-sensor data fusion, tracking and classification; and the network, timing, power and site engineering that support them.
This is a detection, classification and tracking system only. Mitigation of any kind – RF jamming, protocol takeover, GNSS denial, directed energy, kinetic interception or net capture – is explicitly outside its scope and is legally restricted in most jurisdictions.
The complete 111-page technical specification, including the full requirement matrix and verification methods, is available in the datasheet above.
Key Features
- Three passive sensing modalities in one fused picture: RF control-link detection, cellular network monitoring and acoustic arrays
- Vendor-agnostic reference design intended for engineering, procurement and systems-integration review
- Band plan covering ITU Regions 1, 2 and 3
- LTE and cellular monitoring for cellular-piloted aircraft that carry no conventional control link
- Acoustic array with rotor-signature DSP for short-range confirmation
- Multi-sensor data fusion with tracking and classification, backhaul and timing distribution defined end to end
- Detection only – no mitigation, keeping deployments inside regulatory limits
